The LPIC-1 is the first certification in the Linux Professional Institute’s multi-level certification program, which covers Linux knowledge and basic maintenance skills. This is the first step a system administrator can take to becoming a certified master of business maintenance and management.
The LPIC-1 is particularly useful for beginning a career as a systems administrator, as it is designed to test your knowledge of the day-to-day tasks required to keep a Linux system running. LPIC-1 training covers the use and maintenance of a Linux workstation. Once you’ve earned LPIC-1, the other LPI certifications are open to you, and that’s where the real work begins.
Course objectives:
1. Understand the Architecture of a Linux System
2. Install and Maintain a Linux Workstation, Including X11, and Configure It as a Network Client
3. Work on the Linux Command Line, Including the Most Common GNU and Unix Commands
4. Manage Files and Access Permissions, as Well as System Security
5. Perform Simple Maintenance Tasks: Help Users, Add Users to the Larger System, Backup and Restore, Shut Down and Restart
